The Significant Insignificants As the inner Light glows, we want it to be seen, we all want to be significant, Mind brims with ideas, To solve the problems Of the world, and be counted as significant. To build anything, of Significance, To climb any ladder of achieving, Requires sojourns, step on step, by step, sometimes overstepping, At times, under stepping, But across many steps to the goal. These steps being repetitive, become mundane to our minds, Numbing, Insignificant. Taking the train to work, everyday traffic snarls, A cup of coffee, Mindless greetings at work, Hundrum lunch hours, Mundane meetings, Phone calls, news, chats and smokes, Meds, supplements, Breaks in between, Disciplined Routine. Boredom and emptiness, Subtly and surely seep in, As speed breakers emerge, Frustration then erupts, Skepticism corrodes us, Negativity then reigns, Outcomes are corrupted. But if the Light of Significance shines steady, guides surely, along the mundane small steps, These inane grinds, become significant, The emptiness becomes the silent space between the steps, That holds the light up, for creativity and alertness, to make or choose the right paths Only then and thus gets built, Any ‘significant’ bridge To solve any meaningful problem, To make us significant.
