I loved this book. It was written for and dedicated to “the many contractors, civilians, and military service members in Iraqand Afghanistan.” But is great for anyone. The author presents an assortment of ways for the reader to find and practice serenity. Each day is an offering of a technique for the reader to apply and to help achieve their serenity.
The organization of each day starts with a meaningful quotation relating to the exercise of the day. The author poses a question, suggests ways for the reader to find the answers, then presents a form of exercise for the reader to achieve the goal of the day. For example, one question is “How do we cultivate silence and serenity?” The author suggests meditation, then gives a comprehensive “exercise” to practice. If you are someone searching for serenity, I recommend starting with Day 1 and continuing through the book. If you are someone who already meditates and practice serenity in your life, this is a great “reminder” or refresher book for you.
